As a youth, when you live in a religious dominant environment, one thing you will be deceived of is claiming to receive a calling from God, called anointing to mount the pulpit or podium anywhere to preach the word of supposed salvation. Thereby denouncing even your traditional roots and following most non-religious adventures, sometimes academic pursuits.   I nearly became a victim of this ideology until I took it upon myself to do thorough research on the biblical content and character and realized that every story was created by somebody. So that means I can also create my story to benefit generations. This led my book-writing journey and strong passion to see humanity relieved from distress led to more desire to acquire knowledge that can be used to bring positive changes in society in local, national and international arenas.  After I got admission to pursue an MA in International Affairs at the University of Ghana, I posted some information on it, then it sparked th...

Loaning of Asante Stolen Golds by UK to Ashanti Kingdom

My perspective on loaning Asante stolen artefacts by the United Kingdom to the Ashanti Kingdom may come with some suspicion or ridicule. Someone may ask how can someone steal your artefacts for years, instead of you seeking compensation or reparation rather than going to loan them from the illegitimate possessors. It is just like singing praises to your oppressors to oppress you the more. Or being under the eternal blessings of slavery and destined to servitor to others.   By the way, these issues if not well handle may create a diplomatic tussle between Ghana and the United Kingdom, in case something goes wrong during the process of the loaning agreement. Ghana with its diversity and cosmopolitan nature of traditional systems and relationships must be respected in every International decision so that one kingdom's issues should not have ramifications on the stretch of the country's image and vast population.  The process of breaching the agreement may incur sanctions to ...

My Take on Bawku Conflict

The dynamics of Bawku and other parts of the country's periodic conflicts must be looked at with a curious and microscopic lens to avoid compromising national security as well as human security measures.  The politicizing of issues especially security with tribal and ethnic driving motives may create room for some actors to see the cracks in our national security architecture and try to capitalize on the weaknesses to strike.   Still, our democracy is not providing, the needed public trust when the adjudicating system is seen as the place where despots or supposedly powerful persons are assured of manipulative justice in entrenched social or cultural situations against fairness and balanced justice of the populace, the masses will start to take their salvation into their own hands. We need a strong and ensuring society where everyone has confidence in the system, their selves and others.  As vigilante groups are gradually emerging in the West Africa sub-region eithe...

Some Practical Solutions to Nigeria's Terrorism

Image
These extreme capitalist issues are very complex ones. We were told the private sector is the engine of our economy but this assertion is not entirely true. If our state institutions are not doing well private sector cannot create a healthy economy but more illicit businesses through abusive and corrupt use of state machinery.  In our part of the world, those who venture into the private sector mostly get a lot of support from state officials or some even use their offices to divert state funds into private businesses due to our glorious nature of corruption.  The carnage that is ongoing in Nigeria has now gone beyond the power of the Nigerian populace because every part of the State has been captured by some political elites and their cronyism with organized crime networks, they are more fearful even than custodians of national security.  Their powers transcend the borders of Nigeria due to their illicit wealth and businesses. In extreme capitalist markets, it is all abo...
